Lewes is ranked the best place to live in Delaware!Lewes Spring flowers

Out of 35 municipalities, Delaware Today magazine has named Lewes the best place to live in the state, a title that locals have always felt deep down. “I’m not necessarily surprised by the recognition because I think it’s well-deserved,” said Mayor Jim Ford.
The publication compiled the list after evaluating and ranking eight qualities within each municipality: school district, median home price, property taxes, safety, commuting time, arts and culture, shopping and dining and nightlife. Read More!

The Lewes Tulip Festival, a celebration of Lewes’s Dutch heritage, will again include a photography contest. (For contest rules and deadlines, click here.) The festival, sponsored by the Lewes Chamber of Commerce in partnership with the Lewes Historical Society, Lewes in Bloom, City of Lewes Parks and Recreation Commission, the Zwaanendael Museum and the Historic Lewes Farmers Market, will be held April 15 and 16, 2011 in various locations throughout Lewes with the photography exhibit taking place in Zwaanendael Park.
